And as a side note, I always love the surprise I often hear in new Korean friends’ voices when they hear that I dated a Korean guy. Plus, while I don’t really have a physical type – I do prefer guys who have dark hair (easy to find in Korea unless they dye their hair) and who are bigger than me (a little harder but still fairly easy to find, I’m only 167cm). And I’m going to help you a little with some interesting tidbits about dating a Korean.Marriage is not for the individual but rather for the desire of the family. But really, that’s like saying I want to date a Lawyer after watching Suite. They sometimes go MIA, put friends over you, breaks your heart, forget your birthday etc.But I must say that there is some merit to Korean boys’ courting style that is hard to match. To an American, the motto may go something like: "Look Poor, Act Rich" -we like to look good, without appearing as if we are trying to hard. But a Korean motto is quite the opposite; for example, a Korean woman will dress to a T with designer clothes, high-quality makeup and five-inch heels...if you compliment her on any of these stylish choices, her response will probably be something like, "Oh this? " It's considered rude to gloat on a compliment..truth be told, both men and women consider appearance to be high on their list of criteria when choosing a partner, because it's not just the person you spend weekends with, it's the person you're going to be I'm not going to pretend like Korean guys are going around holding doors for women and opening car doors, but couples are often seen together, the man holding the woman's purse and/or books, while also holding her hand. Maybe....but, probably it's more a case of plain old-fashioned chivalry. Apparently you can have your cake and eat it too...

It seems like Korean guys are in demand because many of my single girlfriends have been telling me how much they’d like to learn Korean just to date Korean boys. Quite understandable considering how men are portrayed in all these Korean MVs, dramas, and movies.

Korean girls do just about everything else American girls do, the only differences is they keep it behind closed doors, and they don’t talk about it openly. Sexual advertising is everywhere, it’s impossibly to avoid, so maybe the Koreans are on to something here...is more.

There are two sides to this coin: for one, we’d be lying if we said the U. Most everyone in Seoul agrees that appearance is given a high value in Korean society.

This made it hard for me to adapt to ABC guys that were texting 2,3 messages per day or every two three days because Korean guys will text you every day. It’s not that they’re more/less into you; I think it’s a norm.
